So instead of Galve doing the rational thing, and lamenting his friend's lack of control and eating habits, he declares war on flavor and invented the Archon Loaf and Pan loaf. A friend who loved eating, but it was gourmet food bad for your health. So Galve a nutritionist, prolly had a friend.
#FINAL FANTASY 14 LEAD COBLYN FULL#
I generally think homebrew classes should be balanced to their "archetype," or stronger if their archetype isn't a full caster.Based on what I know about XIV writing and the hints given, I can make a prediction. It's the nature of the game that some classes will be stronger than others.

Arcanist is probably nearer the top end of 5e, but I'd put some subclasses of Wizard, Cleric, and Druid not already mentioned above it (e.g. Arcanist is now firmly weaker than the 5e minionmancers: Shepherd Druid, Necromancer Wizard, and any fiend-binding build. I think Arcanist should be fine as it is now, and you should take any ongoing critique with a grain of salt. Combat-only may make it ok though, and would provide a "confession-sink" to White Mage. Afflatus Solace) would have helped fill that tool-space, but I'm not sure the balance remains now that confessions can be generated at will. In the prior build, I felt that allowing confessions to be spent to heal people (e.g. WHM needs something besides hand-me-downs from Life Cleric and a few unique spells on Spirit Master, or else I don't feel it's accomplishing its job fantasy. Astrologian gets differing healing benefits on all three sects, albeit they consume draws (except Fortuneteller, which gets to do it in tandem with a draw, but getting the heal is a 50-50). White Mage has nothing, except Spirit Master who gets the Life Cleric's healing boost and a Confession+bonus action gated version of the maximize (meaning it takes a minimum of two turns to maximize a heal).Ĭomparing this to the other FF14 healers: Scholar has a better flat healing boost (I still really disagree with SCH getting a better flat boost just because it gets it late), a fairy with a few extra heals built in, and eventually ways to apply a massive chunk of temp HP. Celestial Warlock's Healing Light + Gift of the Ever Loving One invocation Life Cleric channel divinity + healing boost + maximize healing. To elaborate on point #3, every single healing subclass in the normal 5e D&D has some ability that provides an alternative pool of healing and ways to improve their healing spells. White Mage is a bad healer, relatively speaking. Elementalist gets the clearest reason to do so Amdapori probably wants to do so to retain the aura but Spirit Master's only real reasons to do so (averting action economy bottlenecks) feed into the next issue. The benefit for holding more than a single confession stack is limited. WHM gets Confession at 1st level, but cannot do anything with it until 2nd level. Still planning to do a full review, now on the updated version. Making confessions into bonus-action buffs to other actions, for the most part, does a lot for a class that lacks innate bonus actions beyond a handful of spells. Stopping by to say that old White Mage is a significant improvement in many ways. I hope y'all enjoy and keep on keeping on! I'll try and respond to everyone as much as I can, but I'll apologize in advance for my slowness as I know it'll be the case. Previous Build: !AjoQU3ivE3hUgQHaioo5EsP0ngo4?e=a2tbu7
#FINAL FANTASY 14 LEAD COBLYN UPDATE#
I'm sure there is still some polishing I could do but I'll update those in the background over time. Other than that I just did some text cleaning up in a few spots and some feature clarifications. If it still remains to be in that OP spot, I've got a couple other spots to tone it down. That being said I felt that the nerf to the pets brings the overtuned Arcanist back in line a bit more, as I saw a lot of feedback saying that the class was way too strong. The Arcanist and Machinist have been updated to use the new pet mechanics that Tasha's Cauldron of Everything offers. I feel like I've nailed it with these changes and I hope you'll feel the same. I'm trying something new with Samurai and White Mage, a last ditch effort to get a ramp up mechanic working. This time around, I've done some cleaning up of some classes that really needed love. Thank you everyone for covering questions and such as well, generally those that jump in to offer guidance nail it every time. Life has been crazy on my end and its kept me far from the project unfortunately, but I've enjoyed watching you all from the side line creating great stuff and sharing great ideas. I didn't realize it'd been nearly a year since my last BIG update. Its been a long time since I last made an update.
